Overall B-

Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for Walker: B-.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Devontez Walker, the No. 150 name on the board, stolen at the 217th pick. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Every board in the league had Hartman lower, and that gap is the story. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They will answer for taking defensive back early while edge rusher, cornerback and other spots went begging.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Joe Alt
In No. 9 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick41 Rnd2 Kamari Lassiter
A surprising call. With edge rusher, cornerback and other spots still to address, they spent the 41st pick on Kamari Lassiter, a defensive back they were not short of.
Pick43 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan Morgan at the 43rd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick73 Rnd3 Adonai Mitchell
They took Adonai Mitchell at par in pick No. 73, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick82 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter at slot 82 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick109 Rnd4 Tate Ratledge
By-the-book stuff, Tate Ratledge at Round 4, Pick 9 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick135 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
No edge and no loss on Cole Bishop in pick 135; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick187 Rnd6 Bryce Foster
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Bryce Foster. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick217 Rnd6 Devontez Walker
Devontez Walker in the 217th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Pick219 Rnd6 Cody Schrader
They paid a round early for Cody Schrader in No. 219, more than the board wanted. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick230 Rnd7 Sam Hartman
They left a pile of value on the table to take Sam Hartman this early at the 230th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
