Draft Grade — Falcons

FutureB-
The Falcons let Pearce Jr. fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-. When a board-topper like James Pearce Jr. slides to the 46th overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the Falcons did not. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The offensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Shemar Stewart
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get juice off the edge. A real need, handled.
Pick46
Rnd2
James Pearce Jr.
Steal is underselling it; James Pearce Jr. at pick 46 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick118
Rnd4
Xavier Restrepo
They read the board right and Xavier Restrepo was the payoff at slot 118. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick218
Rnd7
Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins in pick No. 218 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick242
Rnd7
Corey Kiner
Corey Kiner at the Round 7 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
