You build a draft on nights like this. Brenden Rice had no business being available in No. 109, and the Lions did the only sane thing and turned in the card. A weekend of give and take that grades a C+.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.
