The 49ers lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The 49ers spent No. 200 on Caleb Rogers, a name the board had a full 134 spots lower. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The Phillips steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.

In the 31st overall pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
