Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B+
ValueA+ NeedB- TradesB FutureB
Grand theft in pick No. 161: the Vikings steal Barron and grade out a B+.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Vikings were there to profit. Jahdae Barron, the No. 13 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 161st pick. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. The back end got a real overhaul.

The Joshua Ezeudu deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick34 Rnd2 Travis Hunter
Travis Hunter in slot 34 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick97 Rnd3 Ashton Jeanty
Ashton Jeanty in the 97th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick104 Rnd4 Walter Nolen
Walter Nolen at the Round 4 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick140 Rnd5 Armand Membou
You do not let an offensive lineman like Armand Membou reach the 140th overall pick and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick161 Rnd5 Jahdae Barron
Somehow Jahdae Barron was still sitting there in Round 5, Pick 22, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
