Daniels is the Patriots' new face under center. Grade: F. If confidence were a draft strategy, the Patriots would have aced it. Jacob Dobbs at pick No. 214 is 192 spots clear of where he belonged. About as rough as the board gets, and a F to prove it.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
