Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Danny Stutsman got past him. The 49ers do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 137. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

Cross III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.

On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
