Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for Anthony: D-.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Packers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.

They are betting Smith proves the room right and everyone else wrong. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They banked enough surplus on Anthony to cover a lot of smaller sins. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
In the 25th overall pick they get an island corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick28 Rnd1 Adonai Mitchell
In Round 1, Pick 28 they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick40 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper in pick 40 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick41 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kingsley Suamataia. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick88 Rnd3 Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock at pick No. 88 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick91 Rnd3 Maason Smith
They reached into another round for Maason Smith, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick126 Rnd4 Isaac Guerendo
No drama and no debate, Isaac Guerendo went about where he belonged in pick 126. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick169 Rnd5 Kamal Hadden
They paid sticker price for Kamal Hadden in pick No. 169, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick219 Rnd6 Myles Harden
Myles Harden slid further than he should have, and slot 219 is lovely value for the cornerback. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick245 Rnd7 Josh Proctor
They took Josh Proctor at par in the Round 7 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick256 Rnd7 Bub Means
Bub Means at the 256th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick257 Rnd7 Daijahn Anthony
A cornerback of that caliber at No. 257 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
