BLESSEDBYGOD22 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Seahawks kept it disciplined and banked a B-. There is reaching, and then there is Jake Majors at the 82nd pick. The Seahawks jumped the board by 49 and dared it to prove them wrong.
The Crenshaw-Dickson steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Kelvin Banks Jr.
In pick 18 they get protection for the quarterback, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50
Rnd2
Xavier Watts
Nothing to complain about; Xavier Watts went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick52
Rnd2
Jordan Burch
Jordan Burch in the Round 2 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick82
Rnd3
Jake Majors
A big swing on Jake Majors at Round 3, Pick 18, well ahead of any board in the building. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick92
Rnd3
Quinn Ewers
Quinn Ewers at pick No. 92 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick137
Rnd4
Jaylin Lane
Somehow Jaylin Lane was still sitting there in the 137th pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick172
Rnd5
Damien Martinez
A slide stopped in slot 172, with Damien Martinez worth more than the price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick175
Rnd5
Connor Colby
They went early on Connor Colby in No. 175, and the value did not follow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick223
Rnd7
Akili Arnold
Akili Arnold in pick 223 is fair value, right on his grade. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick234
Rnd7
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
They barely believed it either: Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson still on the board at pick No. 234. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
