Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall

FutureD
A passer of the future in Simpson, and a C-, for the Raiders. Nobody had Princewill Umanmielen this high, and it is not close. The Raiders reached 83 spots to get him at pick No. 184.
They have staked the next five years on Ty Simpson, which is the only story that really matters here. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. However the rest shakes out, Abney II at that price is a win they earned.
The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
If Ty Simpson and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Ty Simpson
In the 3rd pick they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
Anthony Hill Jr. at pick No. 38 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick100
Rnd3
Keith Abney II
Keith Abney II at Round 3, Pick 36 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick108
Rnd4
Blake Miller
They reached a country mile for Blake Miller at No. 108, and the board is aghast. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick113
Rnd4
Zachariah Branch
No edge and no loss on Zachariah Branch in slot 113; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick173
Rnd5
Adon Shuler
They paid sticker price for Adon Shuler in the 173rd overall pick, and that is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick184
Rnd6
Princewill Umanmielen
Value said wait; Princewill Umanmielen in pick 184 says they were not listening. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick220
Rnd7
Quinten Joyner
No drama and no debate, Quinten Joyner went about where he belonged in Round 7, Pick 6. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick222
Rnd7
Jalon Daniels
By-the-book stuff, Jalon Daniels at the 222nd pick squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick244
Rnd7
Elliot Washington II
Elliot Washington II at slot 244 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
