Draft Grade — Seahawks

FutureB
Best value of the weekend goes to the Seahawks for Wilson: B. The rest of the league will want that one back. Jared Wilson tumbling to the Seahawks in No. 137 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Reaching for Kiser left real value on the table behind him.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
Nice patience on Tyler Warren, who had no business lasting to the Round 1 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick50
Rnd2
Marcus Mbow
A straight-up fair deal on Marcus Mbow at pick No. 50, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick52
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
They paid sticker price for Alfred Collins in pick 52, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick66
Rnd3
Jalen Royals
Jalen Royals in the 66th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick82
Rnd3
Darien Porter
They did well to land Darien Porter in slot 82, just ahead of his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick92
Rnd3
Cam Skattebo
A clean, defensible pick in the 92nd pick with a little surplus value in Cam Skattebo. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick137
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson at No. 137 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick172
Rnd5
Chase Lundt
They took Chase Lundt at par in Round 5, Pick 34, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser at the Round 5 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick223
Rnd7
Donovan Edwards
A tidy bit of business in Round 7, Pick 7, where Donovan Edwards graded well above the range. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick226
Rnd7
Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock in slot 226 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick234
Rnd7
Desmond Watson
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Desmond Watson. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
