zfootball117917 DRAFTING FOR THEJets
Draft Grade — Jets
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Jets: B-. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Jets left quarterback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In slot 2 they get the heartbeat of the defense. More want than need.
Pick16
Rnd1
Peter Woods
In the 16th pick they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick33
Rnd2
KC Concepcion
KC Concepcion at pick 33 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick44
Rnd2
Zion Young
A straight-up fair deal on Zion Young at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
