Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Commanders robbed the room for Green. Final grade: B+.

The Commanders ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. Green falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 David Stone
In pick 26 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Trey'Dez Green
A tight end of that caliber at Round 2, Pick 9 is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick77 Rnd3 Nyck Harbor
They went early on Nyck Harbor in No. 77, and the value did not follow. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick116 Rnd4 Earl Little Jr.
The board had Earl Little Jr. higher than slot 116, and the safety fell to them anyway. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick126 Rnd4 Jayden Jackson
Value with a capital V on Jayden Jackson in the Round 4 slot, a genuine coup. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick145 Rnd5 Elijah Paige
Elijah Paige in pick No. 145 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick185 Rnd6 Mason Curtis
A slide stopped in the Round 6 slot, with Mason Curtis worth more than the price. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick196 Rnd6 Christian Alliegro
They paid sticker price for Christian Alliegro in pick No. 196, and that is fine. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick223 Rnd7 John Mateer
A straight-up fair deal on John Mateer at the 223rd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
