Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesD+ FutureA
Best value of the weekend goes to the Commanders for Washington: B.

Somebody in No. 63 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Commanders sat still while A'Mauri Washington, the No. 38 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Zabien Brown
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick63 Rnd2 A'Mauri Washington
A'Mauri Washington at pick 63 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick71 Rnd3 Nick Marsh
They paid sticker price for Nick Marsh in pick No. 71, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick108 Rnd4 Kade Pieper
Kade Pieper at No. 108 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick122 Rnd4 Jaylen McClain
By-the-book stuff, Jaylen McClain at slot 122 squarely in line with his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick131 Rnd4 Jayden Jackson
Jayden Jackson in the Round 4 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick145 Rnd5 Kam Robinson
A tidy bit of business in the 145th overall pick, where Kam Robinson graded well above the range. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick185 Rnd6 Jayden Virgin-Morgan
A linebacker of that caliber at the 185th pick is the definition of value, full stop. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick202 Rnd6 Mason Curtis
They read the board right and Mason Curtis was the payoff at slot 202. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick223 Rnd7 Emerson Mandell
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Emerson Mandell. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
