You could see the war room lean forward. Justin Scott at slot 71 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Commanders indulged a want in McClain while a need in edge rusher, quarterback and other spots stayed open. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
