The Commanders let Washington fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. A'Mauri Washington tumbling to the Commanders in the 71st pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
