The Commanders let Washington fall and pounced. Final grade: B-.

Somebody in No. 71 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Commanders sat still while A'Mauri Washington, the No. 37 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
