You build a draft on nights like this. D'Angelo Ponds had no business being available in Round 3, Pick 7, and the Commanders did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

Every board in the league had Sturdivant lower, and that gap is the story. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
