Draft Grade — Bears
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB- TradesF FutureC
The Bears found their guy under center in Williams: D-.

Somebody took the Bears to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

Caleb Williams is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The cost of the Eboigbe reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.

They banked enough surplus on Sweat to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
Caleb Williams in the 1st overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick9 Rnd1 Brock Bowers
In the Round 1 slot they get a security blanket over the middle at fair value. More want than need.
Pick75 Rnd3 T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat in slot 75 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick101 Rnd4 Brenden Rice
A clean, defensible pick in the 101st pick with a little surplus value in Brenden Rice. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick122 Rnd4 Justin Eboigbe
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Justin Eboigbe. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
