When a board-topper like Barrett Carter slides to Round 6, Pick 18, you do not overthink it, and the Bears did not. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Every board in the league had Ratledge lower, and that gap is the story.

A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want.
