The Bears spent the pick that matters most on J.J. McCarthy, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

The Rice steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Every board in the league had McCarthy lower, and that gap is the story.
