The 49ers cashed the board's mistake on Moore: D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The 49ers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Moore pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with wide receiver still on the board.

Moore at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and wide receiver is still a hole.

In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick12 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In No. 12 they get a matchup weapon at tight end at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick13 Rnd1 Mykel Williams
In pick No. 13 they get a problem off the edge at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker slid further than he should have, and the 38th overall pick is lovely value for the linebacker. It fills a real need, too.
Pick43 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams at pick 43 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick44 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
They paid sticker price for Xavier Watts in the 44th pick, and that is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick49 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at pick No. 49 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick54 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
The board had Jihaad Campbell higher than the 54th overall pick, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick95 Rnd3 Quinn Ewers
Quinn Ewers in the 95th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick124 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending pick 124 on Malachi Moore with wide receiver unsolved.
