The Bengals won the night they stopped Simon from sliding. Grade: B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Cody Simon tumbling to the Bengals in pick No. 191 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

They will need Mesidor to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. It is not that Burch is a bad player; it is that the Bengals had louder needs to answer first.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
