Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueC NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Browns fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B.

The Browns went off the board in a big way for Dominic Zvada, 98 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Browns clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Caleb Lomu
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get a long-term starter on the line, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick24 Rnd1 Avieon Terrell
In pick No. 24 they get a potential shutdown corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick55 Rnd2 Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers at the 55th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick70 Rnd3 Bryce Lance
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Bryce Lance. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick107 Rnd4 Ar'maj Reed-Adams
A wild overpay on Ar'maj Reed-Adams in No. 107, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick139 Rnd5 Dominic Zvada
A big swing on Dominic Zvada at the 139th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick144 Rnd5 Zane Durant
Value said wait; Zane Durant in Round 5, Pick 6 says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick147 Rnd5 Ricardo Hallman
Ricardo Hallman at slot 147 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick204 Rnd6 Gunner Stockton
By-the-book stuff, Gunner Stockton at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick226 Rnd7 Riley Mahlman
They took Riley Mahlman at par in the 226th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick248 Rnd7 Preston Hodge
A reach for Preston Hodge in pick 248; a little patience would have been rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
