1095266 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Seahawks bet the future on Milroe. The board says B-. The Seahawks spent the pick that matters most on Jalen Milroe, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Lacy falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They will need Henderson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Jalen Milroe
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick62
Rnd2
Howard Cross III
Nothing to complain about; Howard Cross III went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick94
Rnd3
Tacario Davis
They paid sticker price for Tacario Davis in the 94th overall pick, and that is fine. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick131
Rnd4
Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba in the 131st pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick136
Rnd4
Joshua Gray
Joshua Gray in pick 136 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick172
Rnd5
Jeffrey Bassa
They paid up for Jeffrey Bassa at slot 172 when waiting would have done the job. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick193
Rnd6
Jason Henderson
A real head-scratcher, Jason Henderson in pick No. 193 is miles ahead of his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick210
Rnd6
Terrance Ferguson
They liked Terrance Ferguson enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 6 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick244
Rnd7
Kyren Lacy
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Kyren Lacy in slot 244, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
