Larceny in Round 7, Pick 27 lands the Titans a A-, Restrepo and all. The Titans ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.
They banked enough surplus on Restrepo to cover a lot of smaller sins. If Nugent pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Terrion Arnold and all.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Terrion Arnold
In the 26th pick they get a ballhawk on the outside. More want than need.
Pick38
Rnd2
Ladd McConkey
They took Ladd McConkey at par in slot 38, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick42
Rnd2
Graham Barton
Graham Barton in the 42nd overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick89
Rnd3
Malachi Corley
Malachi Corley at the Round 3 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
Pick117
Rnd4
Drake Nugent
They liked Drake Nugent enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 117. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick126
Rnd4
Javon Foster
Javon Foster at pick No. 126 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick144
Rnd5
Dylan Laube
No edge and no loss on Dylan Laube in pick No. 144; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick153
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
A slide stopped in slot 153, with Jaylin Simpson worth more than the price. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick163
Rnd5
Jonah Monheim
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jonah Monheim. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick184
Rnd6
Sam Hartman
Good price on Sam Hartman in the 184th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick228
Rnd7
Matthew Jones
Matthew Jones at No. 228 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick247
Rnd7
Xavier Restrepo
Xavier Restrepo in Round 7, Pick 27 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
