Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D+
ValueC NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Packers bled value on every deal, hence the D+.

Nobody else had Solomon Tuliaupupu anywhere near slot 257. The Packers did, by 49 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Hard to defend, and the D+ reflects that.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

However the rest shakes out, Lew at that price is a win they earned.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, wide receiver very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick52 Rnd2 Keith Abney II
They liked Keith Abney II enough to skip the value, taking him in the 52nd overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick80 Rnd3 Malik Muhammad
A reasonable price with a little left over, Malik Muhammad in No. 80. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick84 Rnd3 Connor Lew
Connor Lew in the Round 3 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick120 Rnd4 Jacob Rodriguez
They talked themselves into Jacob Rodriguez at Round 4, Pick 20, and the board did not agree. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick200 Rnd6 Le'Veon Moss
Le'Veon Moss in the 200th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick236 Rnd7 Avery Johnson
Avery Johnson at pick No. 236 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick254 Rnd7 Riley Mahlman
They reached into another round for Riley Mahlman, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick257 Rnd7 Solomon Tuliaupupu
Solomon Tuliaupupu at Round 7, Pick 41 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
