ian DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Seahawks, and a B- to prove it. There is a lot to like until you notice edge rusher is still a hole. The Seahawks never got to the one that mattered most. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
Belton has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Colston Loveland
In pick 20 they get a seam-stretching tight end. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick50
Rnd2
Jonah Savaiinaea
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 50 with a little surplus value in Jonah Savaiinaea. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick52
Rnd2
Demetrius Knight Jr.
They took Demetrius Knight Jr. at par in Round 2, Pick 20, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick82
Rnd3
Deone Walker
No edge and no loss on Deone Walker in the 82nd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick85
Rnd3
Zy Alexander
They jumped the gun on Zy Alexander, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick92
Rnd3
Anthony Belton
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Anthony Belton well ahead of where he belonged. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick137
Rnd4
Tyler Shough
A straight-up fair deal on Tyler Shough at the 137th pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick172
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
They paid up for Dont'e Thornton Jr. at slot 172 when waiting would have done the job. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jaylen Reed
They went early on Jaylen Reed in the 175th pick, and the value did not follow. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
