Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureD-
Nobody dealt better than the Seahawks this weekend: B-.

The Seahawks spent real capital to be 141 picks early on Taylor Upshaw, and the board is going to hold them to it. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
By-the-book stuff, Dallas Turner at pick No. 16 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick49 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat at Round 2, Pick 17 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick78 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes at the 78th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick80 Rnd3 Jaheim Bell
They talked themselves into Jaheim Bell at No. 80, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick81 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
They paid a round early for Sedrick Van Pran in the Round 3 slot, more than the board wanted. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick118 Rnd4 Ty'Ron Hopper
They reached into another round for Ty'Ron Hopper, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick154 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick194 Rnd6 Jordan Magee
Jordan Magee at the 194th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick236 Rnd7 Taylor Upshaw
Value said wait; Taylor Upshaw in pick 236 says they were not listening. Need-wise, a curious use of the pick.
