Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Raiders.

Boards are made to be trusted, and the Raiders shredded theirs for Will Sheppard. He came off 117 spots early, and the room will hear about it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Henderson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Omarion Hampton
In No. 12 they get a bell-cow for the offense, though the board says they badly overpaid. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick37 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at slot 37 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick44 Rnd2 Jonah Savaiinaea
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jonah Savaiinaea. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick68 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, TreVeyon Henderson at Round 3, Pick 4. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick108 Rnd4 Cobee Bryant
They went early on Cobee Bryant in the 108th pick, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick143 Rnd5 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. at the 143rd overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick180 Rnd6 Nazir Stackhouse
They talked themselves into Nazir Stackhouse at pick No. 180, and the board did not agree. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick213 Rnd6 R.J. Mickens
R.J. Mickens in the 213th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick215 Rnd6 Will Sheppard
Value said wait; Will Sheppard in Round 6, Pick 39 says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick222 Rnd7 Jermari Harris
No edge and no loss on Jermari Harris in pick 222; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
