The Commanders got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D.

The Commanders treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending pick No. 145 on Bud Clark a full 63 spots early. It grades a D, and the process earned it.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
