The Giants lost the trade table, and the C tells the story.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Princewill Umanmielen at the Round 6 slot is 50 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. A weekend of give and take that grades a C.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They banked enough surplus on Singleton Jr. to cover a lot of smaller sins.

That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
