The Giants drew a line under the quarterback search with Dart: F. The Jimmy Horn Jr. pick is the one that will follow the Giants into the fall. They took him 86 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The whole projection now runs through Jaxson Dart; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
It is not that Walker is a bad player; it is that the Giants had louder needs to answer first. That Walker pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
