Larceny in No. 134 lands the Giants a B-, Henderson and all. The board owed the Giants one, and it paid up: TreVeyon Henderson, the No. 55 name on the board, sitting there at No. 134 like a gift left on the doorstep. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. They are betting Hairston proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Abdul Carter
In slot 3 they get juice off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Booker. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick65
Rnd3
Maxwell Hairston
They went early on Maxwell Hairston in the 65th overall pick, and the value did not follow. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick104
Rnd4
Jake Majors
Jake Majors at pick 104 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick134
Rnd4
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in Round 4, Pick 33 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick155
Rnd5
Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter at the 155th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It adds depth where they could use a little.
