A franchise passer in Maye headlines a D- weekend for the Giants.

The phones were a trap the Giants kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.

They have staked the next five years on Drake Maye, which is the only story that really matters here. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

The James value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The Giants paired the rookies with proven help, Mike Onwenu leading the way.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
