Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B
ValueB NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
The Giants let Sanders fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

Call it larceny. Raheim Sanders sat on the board until Round 7, Pick 3, and the Giants did not need to be asked twice.

Jefferson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The skill positions did well by the weekend.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Tetairoa McMillan
In Round 1, Pick 3 they get a weapon on the perimeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34 Rnd2 Walter Nolen
They will replay Walter Nolen at pick 34 for years; that is how good the value is. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick65 Rnd3 Denzel Burke
By-the-book stuff, Denzel Burke at No. 65 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick103 Rnd4 Dillon Gabriel
Dillon Gabriel in the 103rd pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick134 Rnd4 Jake Majors
Jake Majors at slot 134 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick153 Rnd5 Cam Skattebo
Circle this one: Cam Skattebo at pick No. 153 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick219 Rnd7 Raheim Sanders
Raheim Sanders in the Round 7 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick246 Rnd7 KJ Jefferson
KJ Jefferson at the 246th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
