Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Giants worked the phones like thieves and earned a B+.

The Giants ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided.

Haulcy falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They will need Campbell to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Safety is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
Arvell Reese is a better player than slot 18 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick29 Rnd1 Avieon Terrell
In No. 29 they get an island corner at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick47 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
Emmanuel Pregnon at the 47th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick78 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
The board fumbled A.J. Haulcy all the way to the 78th pick, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick105 Rnd4 Deion Burks
A straight-up fair deal on Deion Burks at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick140 Rnd5 Kage Casey
They took Kage Casey at par in pick 140, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick144 Rnd5 DJ Campbell
A real head-scratcher, DJ Campbell in pick No. 144 is miles ahead of his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick191 Rnd6 Thaddeus Dixon
Thaddeus Dixon in Round 6, Pick 11 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick192 Rnd6 Miles Kitselman
Miles Kitselman at the Round 6 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick205 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in the 205th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick248 Rnd7 Haynes King
Haynes King in the 248th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
