SD DRAFTING FOR THEGiants

Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Giants left with their quarterback, and a B- to match. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Shedeur Sanders is the Giants' quarterback, full stop. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Landing Hampton that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The Griffith pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Shedeur Sanders
In the 2nd overall pick they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick33
Rnd2
Josh Conerly Jr.
Josh Conerly Jr. at pick 33 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick67
Rnd3
Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton in Round 3, Pick 3 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Pick103
Rnd4
Hollin Pierce
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Hollin Pierce. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick134
Rnd4
Danny Stutsman
They robbed the room for Danny Stutsman here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick156
Rnd5
Jayden Higgins
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Jayden Higgins in slot 156, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick218
Rnd7
Thor Griffith
They reached a country mile for Thor Griffith at the Round 7 slot, and the board is aghast. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick246
Rnd7
Kevin Winston Jr.
A safety of that caliber at pick No. 246 is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
