Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Giants were there to profit. Jay Higgins, the No. 123 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 6 slot. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

Whatever Cam Ward becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
