When a board-topper like T.J. Sanders slides to No. 256, you do not overthink it, and the Giants did not.

That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 7 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
