FutureA
The Giants won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: A-. The war room fell hard for Anthony Evans III, and it showed at slot 192: 34 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Tyler Guyton gives the group a proven body among the projects. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Kadyn Proctor
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick37
Rnd2
Keith Abney II
A premium they did not need to pay, Keith Abney II a notch or two before his time. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick105
Rnd4
Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch at Round 4, Pick 5 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick144
Rnd5
DJ Campbell
A big swing on DJ Campbell at slot 144, well ahead of any board in the building. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick185
Rnd6
Josh Moten
A straight-up fair deal on Josh Moten at pick 185, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Pick191
Rnd6
De'Zhaun Stribling
De'Zhaun Stribling in the 191st overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick192
Rnd6
Anthony Evans III
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Anthony Evans III well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
