Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Bears left with their quarterback, and a A- to match.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Bears committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If Corley pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In slot 6 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick16 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In the 16th pick they get a difference-maker at receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38 Rnd2 Troy Fautanu
Troy Fautanu in pick No. 38 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick47 Rnd2 Kris Jenkins
They went early on Kris Jenkins in the Round 2 slot, and the value did not follow. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick48 Rnd2 Malachi Corley
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Malachi Corley well ahead of where he belonged. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick69 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
Sedrick Van Pran at Round 3, Pick 5 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick105 Rnd4 Braelon Allen
Nothing to complain about; Braelon Allen went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick128 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams at pick 128 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It adds depth where they could use a little.
