Draft Grade — Bears
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D-.

The Bears lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

Whatever Caleb Williams becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Every board in the league had Bishop lower, and that gap is the story.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
They paid sticker price for Caleb Williams in the Round 1 slot, and that is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick9 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In the 9th overall pick they get a go-to option on the outside. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
Jackson Powers-Johnson at the 43rd pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick75 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in pick No. 75 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick109 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop in pick 109 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick110 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
A conviction pick on Darius Robinson at slot 110 that the board grades a round light. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick122 Rnd4 MarShawn Lloyd
A reach for MarShawn Lloyd in Round 4, Pick 22; a little patience would have been rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick146 Rnd5 Dallin Holker
A straight-up fair deal on Dallin Holker at No. 146, value and slot in agreement. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
