Mullings should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a A-.

Thirty-one other rooms let Kalel Mullings slide, and the Patriots were the ones holding the card at the 232nd pick. Highway robbery. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.

They will need Wilson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The veteran additions, A.J. Brown chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
