When the story of this class is written, it opens with Jared Wiley at pick No. 194, a reach of 98 spots that the board flatly disagrees with.

Bo Nix gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at running back and interior defensive lineman.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with running back still staring back at them.
