A costly weekend of dealing drags the 49ers to a C.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The 49ers spent No. 232 on Joey Slackman, a name the board had a full 73 spots lower. Call it a C and check back in two years.

However the rest shakes out, Neal at that price is a win they earned. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
