FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Eagles, and a B to prove it. Nobody had Kenyatta Jackson Jr. this high, and it is not close. The Eagles reached 27 spots to get him at pick 98. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. The McNeil-Warren value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Christen Miller
In the 24th pick they get a disruptive interior force. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick55
Rnd2
Daylen Everette
Daylen Everette in pick No. 55 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick68
Rnd3
Joe Royer
Joe Royer in Round 3, Pick 4 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick88
Rnd3
Malachi Fields
A clean, defensible pick in the 88th overall pick with a little surplus value in Malachi Fields. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick98
Rnd3
Kenyatta Jackson Jr.
Kenyatta Jackson Jr. at pick 98 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick122
Rnd4
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at the Round 4 slot is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick123
Rnd4
Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch at the 123rd overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick136
Rnd4
Charles Jagusah
Charles Jagusah in the 136th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
Pick151
Rnd5
Max Iheanachor
A premium they did not need to pay, Max Iheanachor a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick179
Rnd5
Oscar Delp
Oscar Delp at pick No. 179 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick203
Rnd6
Taylen Green
They did well to land Taylen Green in Round 6, Pick 22, just ahead of his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick204
Rnd6
Rayshaun Benny
No edge and no loss on Rayshaun Benny in slot 204; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
