Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Bengals, and a B- to prove it.

The one they had to fix is still broken. The Bengals left cornerback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.

Gordon II has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Sanders steal is the beam this whole class leans on. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In the 17th pick they get a rangy last line of defense. Need was not the driver here.
Pick49 Rnd2 T.J. Sanders
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and T.J. Sanders at No. 49 is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick81 Rnd3 Ashton Gillotte
A reach for Ashton Gillotte in the 81st overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick119 Rnd4 Jeffrey Bassa
Jeffrey Bassa at pick 119 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick153 Rnd5 Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II in pick No. 153 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
