The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Bowman Jr.: B+. The Packers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Billy Bowman Jr., the No. 111 name on the board, in the 159th pick. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The Kristian Fulton pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Shavon Revel Jr.
In pick 25 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick56
Rnd2
Jalon Walker
Steal is underselling it; Jalon Walker at slot 56 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick88
Rnd3
Dylan Sampson
Dylan Sampson at the Round 3 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick125
Rnd4
Jake Majors
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jake Majors in the 125th pick, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick159
Rnd5
Billy Bowman Jr.
The board fumbled Billy Bowman Jr. all the way to No. 159, and they scooped it up. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick199
Rnd6
Ollie Gordon II
They barely believed it either: Ollie Gordon II still on the board at pick No. 199. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick237
Rnd7
Hunter Wohler
You do not let a safety like Hunter Wohler reach Round 7, Pick 21 and blink. They did not. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick250
Rnd7
Luke Lachey
By-the-book stuff, Luke Lachey at the 250th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
