Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B
ValueC-
NeedB
TradesA-
FutureB
The Packers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B. Nobody had Darrell Jackson Jr. this high, and it is not close. The Packers reached 37 spots to get him at pick 52. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick52
Rnd2
Darrell Jackson Jr.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Darrell Jackson Jr. well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick84
Rnd3
Nicholas Singleton
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Nicholas Singleton. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick120
Rnd4
Logan Jones
The board had cheaper options than Logan Jones at Round 4, Pick 20, and it noticed. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick159
Rnd5
Josh Moten
A real head-scratcher, Josh Moten in No. 159 is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick236
Rnd7
Da'Shawn Womack
Da'Shawn Womack at pick No. 236 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick254
Rnd7
Ja'Keem Jackson
A conviction pick on Ja'Keem Jackson at the 254th pick that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick257
Rnd7
Jordan Hall
No drama and no debate, Jordan Hall went about where he belonged in Round 7, Pick 41. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
